Traditional wedding feasts date back to Medieval Europe where they were elaborate and involved multiple course meals. In the 1960’s and 70’s wedding catering became more relaxed with buffet-style meals and self-service bars. In the 1980’s and 90’s couples personalized their options with unique themes and menu items.
What is a favorite food of yours? Are you a fan of snack foods such as pretzels or popcorn. Did you know this can be turned into a fun interactive food station with different pretzels and dip or different popcorns with toppings.
People enjoy unique aspects of weddings or events. Who wouldn’t love going to a summer wedding and seeing an ice cream station with an assortment of toppings. Ice cream is one of my favorite things and what a great added bonus to a beautiful wedding. What about a birthday party with a cupcake decorating station. How fun would that be?!

An easy idea for an interactive food station could be a s’ mores bar and perhaps if the weather and venue permit a bonfire. The combinations one could make for s’mores are endless. These could be great towards the end of your event to leave your guests with a bang before the night ends. A fun fact about s’mores is the first recorded version of the s'mores recipe can be found in the Girl Scouts of America handbook, published in 1927.
